A few games ago, Montreal Canadiens' center Scott Gomez got rammed into the boards from behind by Atlanta's Slava Kozlov. Then, about a week later, teammate Matt D'Agostini was victimized by a high hit from Chicago's Andrew Ladd.

A taste of Greece in Quebec at “La Taverna”

When tourists come to Quebec City, they discover not only its history of the place but also its restaurants. As its residents, we enjoy having so many places to go to.

A few weeks ago, on October 15, a new restaurant opened on Rue Scott, off of St-Jean. It is called "La Taverna" This is a Greek restaurant, with authentic Greek food.

Invitation to participate in the Morrin Holiday Bake Sale Committee

We invite you to participate in the Morrin Holiday Bake Sale Committee. We need your help in terms of logistics, solliciting contributions, preparing the sale and contributing items to the sale. We are looking for home-baked goods, jams, toys, Holiday Season items, gift items, etc. The Morrin Holiday Bake Sale will take place on Saturday, December 5th.

Lions win hockey championship in Alma

The Halloween showcase held in Alma set the stage for the first Collegiate AAA hockey tournament.

The local team, sitting on top of the league standing had great expectations for this initial showcase.

Unfortunately for them, their vision of Halloween treats was tragically stolen by the tricks and energy of the St. Lawrence Lions.

A challenge from a popular former radio shock jock was not enough to prevent a landslide victory for Regis Labeaume that Sunday handed the popular mayor his first full term as the city's chief executive.

Andrew Caddell to speak at Holy Trinity this Sunday

‘'I am quite flattered because the cathedral was always my home church,'' said Andrew Caddell. ‘'I have a tremendous attachment to it.''

Caddell, 57, a native of Montreal with deep roots in Quebec City, will speak Sunday at his ‘'home'' church, the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity on Rue Des Jardins as part of that day's activities.

Destino and Beyond...

I had the pleasure of a spontaneous evening out last week with my wife to listen to Destino, a crossover "popera" group that has just finished touring the province (24 shows from Havre-St-Pierre to Richmond!). Here in Quebec City they played to a full house at the Théâtre Petit Champlain, a lovely, intimate venue for live music.
