Courageously and peacefully surrounded by family and friends passed away at Laval Hospital on Sunday April 27, 2014. He lived in Saint-Gabriel-de-Valcartier, son of the late Doris Tuppert and the late Fred Lamont.

Annual spring Family Fun Run a sunny success

The 2014 edition of the annual spring Family Fun Run, held on Sunday, May 11, at the Base de plein air de Sainte-Foy, was organized and hosted by Ste-Foy Elementary School. As co-organizer Andrew Johnston explained to the QCT, "This event is similar to the Holland Challenge put on by Holland School a couple of years ago.

Guy Morisset, president of the Quebec City Celtic Festival, convened a press conference last Thursday at the Kiosk des Gouverneurs on the heights of the Plains of Abraham, overlooking the St. Lawrence River. He took the opportunity to announce a new sports activity that will be added to the 9th Celtic Festival, to be held from September 3 to 7, 2014. A kilt run!

A passionate end to the Easter season at St. Patrick’s

St. Patrick's Parish presented A Passion Play, a choral cantata written by Hubert Radoux, Barry O'Connell and John Halpin with music and lyrics by Halpin last Saturday. The musical presentation was the last special event of the Easter Series organized by the parish.

Université Laval wins again at Shell Eco-Marathon of the Americas

On May 8, the QCT spoke with Luis Cooper of the Université Laval engineering team, who had just returned from the 2014 Shell Eco-Marathon of the Americas in Houston, Texas. The Marathon is the prestigious fuel-efficiency contest that attracts competitors from around the globe in continental competitions.

Teen girls hit the track to promote active lifestyles

Last Tuesday, 20 girls and three teachers from La Tuque High School awoke for school a bit earlier than usual. "We got up at six o'clock in the morning - no, wait, we left at six in the morning, which meant getting up at four or five," said teacher Sophie Boulianne.
