Paley art collect more than just a travelling art show

The William S. Paley modern art collection, an eclectic mix of French Impressionist works and 20th-century British and American paintings which headlined the list of travelling shows at the Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec from October to February, shows what can happen when great resources are put into purchasing art for personal enjoyment.

Bowling for newcomers

Voice of English-speaking Quebec (VEQ) hosted an evening of bowling for 20 newcomers to Quebec City at the Quillorama Frontenac last Thursday evening. "We wanted a location and an activity where people could mingle," commented VEQ's project coordinator, Heather McRae.

For Sébastien Fortier, the only way to calm his near-constant pain is to keep moving.

Fortier never considered himself an athlete growing up on his family's farm in Saint-Janvier-de-Joly in Lotbinière - he did what he had to do in gym class, he says, but was always too busy with farm work to really train.
