CQSB opens visual arts gallery on line

This Spring, the Central Québec School Board (CQSB) launched a project to showcase visual art work by students, teachers and staff across the school board. Since the board stretches from La Tuque to Québec to Kawawachikamach, it was decided that an online gallery is the perfect tool to create an exchange through the visual arts.

Oil spill: There could be more

The recent oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico and the environmental disaster is horrendous. Here are three reasons for Canadians to be concerned, although there may be more.

1) Lots of Canadian waterfowl and birds migrate to the Louisiana wetlands every winter. No doubt they will be affected and we will see less birds next year.

Private Thomas Hazell joined the Canadian Forces with one thing in mind.

"I'm a firefighter," Hazell, 26, originally from Ontario, said. "I joined (the army) so I could help my country. Our main priority is to be on standby if we're asked through mutual aid."

Kids Teaching Kids at St.Vincent Elementary School

On May 12, and 13, class 601, a sixth grade class supervised Ms. Leigh-Anne Fischer Fiset of St. Vincent School held a Science Fair. The students presented their scientific research and experiments to the entire school.

QHS Blazers end basketball season with three gold medals

"We had a good year," said Quebec High School Basketball Coach Ed Sweeney, "with exciting teams living exciting moments. Looking at 2009-2010 results, I'm optimistic about next year."

The QHS Junior boys (secondary 3) won the regional championship by defeating the Ecole secondaire Les Pionniers April 11. The score was 44-32.
