Mix of old and new at 2016 Quebec Winter Carnival

At the press conference announcing this year’s Quebec Winter Carnival programming, two teams faced off at Baie de Beauport to pelt each other in an exhibition game of yukigassen, the Japanese sport of organized snowball fighting. The game is one of several new activities that will be part of this year’s Carnival. 

CEGEP students debate at the National Assembly

Students from 24 CEGEPs in twelve provincial ridings across Quebec recently gathered at the National Assembly to participate in the 24th Legislature of the Student Forum. They participated in a mock parliamentary session complete with a premier, political parties, speakers, ministers, MNAs, press officers and journalists.

Université Laval students have done it again with another very interesting exhibit on food and farming that took place from January 15 to 17 at ExpoCité during the 41st Semaine de l’agriculture, de l’alimentation et de la consommation (SAAC).

On January 16, Mont-Sainte-Anne ski resort officially celebrated its 50th anniversary, marking the occasion with a 50% discount on lift tickets for the day, as well as a special evening for those with close ties to the resort.
