Timeless Tall Tales

The other day while passing by Chalmers Wesley Church I saw two cranes, one of which appeared to reach to the clouds. The workmen were replacing the shutters in the steeple with wooden panels in order to prevent rain and snow from penetrating and causing more damage. This could not wait until next summer when the steeple will be rebuilt. It reminded me of Baron Munchausen.

QC parents create child care oasis

Finding an open place for a child in a Quebec City day care can be like trying to find a drink of water in the desert. With few places and even fewer bilingual day cares, a group of parents in the English-speaking community have created Halte Garderie Oasis Daycare, a bilingual cooperative drop-off day care with registration beginning this week at the Eastern Quebec Learning Center.

CQSB bemoaning lack of volunteers, recognize their efforts

While volunteers in our schools are not an extinct species, they certainly are an endangered one, according to several members of the Central Quebec School Board's Parents' Committee. Members of that committee are trying to counter the decline in the number of parent volunteers with the launch of a Parent-Volunteer of the Month section on the CQSB website in the coming year.
