On June 10, Champlain St. Lawrence College honoured four fine teachers upon their retirement: Lorne Coughlin in English, Robert Delaney in physical education, Jan Warnke in geography and Normand Bourgeois in sociology. Julie Coulombe, former Assistant Campus Director (Administrative Services), was also honoured.

A young cancer patient, returns to Quebec City with good news

After a year-long battle with rhabdomyosarcoma, a very rare and aggressive form of cancer, Shawn Bélanger, 20 ,will return home to Quebec next week with good news: two months of clean scans.

Champlain St. Lawrence Honors Student-Athletes

The Champlain St. Lawrence College Athletics Department has announced its list of 71 athletes who were able to maintain an 80 percent average or better in school while lettering for the Lions in the Winter 2010 semester. The name of each athlete is followed by the sport he or she plays and the school they attended before arriving at Champlain St. Lawrence.

Champlain St- Lawrence honored its top athletes on Thursday evening during it's annual sports banquet. Many athletes were given awards for their academic performance as well as their athletic performances.

Another win for SLC Lions Hockery Team

The St. Lawrence Lions Men's hockey team defeated the Sorel Rebels April 11 in the Men's Collegiate Provincial Hockey Championship by the score of 3-2.

Student Fundraising Show for Opération Enfant Soleil

Yesterday, many young talented artists gathered at Laval University for one common reason: sing, dance, and play music in order to raise funds for Opération Enfant Soleil. This successful event has been the result of two months of hard work, numerous phone calls, and countless after-school meetings for us, four students in the P.W. Sims Business Program at Champlain-St. Lawrence.

An Art Exhibit at the Polyvalente de l'Ancienne-Lorette just before the show ‘'Pimp my Song'' was organised to show off the talent of a few artists and for the final term project for the communications class.

Last Tuesday, a Summer Job Fair was held at Champlain St.Lawrence College. Ten companies were present to recruit students during lunch time.

St-Lawrence qualifies for hockey championships

The St-Lawrence Lions Collegiate hockey team has qualified for the Dodge Cup Provincial Championships in Sherbrooke. The road was a difficult one, especially in the last few weeks, that were plagued by a number of injuries to key players.

"The boys worked very hard while competing with sudden-death play-off intensity during this qualifying weekend," the coach Mike Labadie said.
