Douglas Dacres, 88, son of the late Albert Dacres and the late Béatrice Ward, died at Hôpital Saint-François D’Assise on Aug. 13, 2018. He was the husband of Colette Lacroix. He lived in Quebec City.

On Aug. 25, the Caisse Desjardins de Sillery-Saint-Louis-de-France presents the sixth edition of the annual festival, offering a series of activities for children and adults. France awarding a special medal to veterans of the Second World War

Canadian veterans of the 1944 campaign to liberate France may be eligible to receive the National Order of the Legion of Honour.

Since 2014, the Government of France has been awarding the country’s highest medal – the Legion of Honour – to veterans who participated in the liberation of France from June 6 to Aug. 30, 1944.

Middaugh and Corona Garcia excel at Xterra Québec

After a night of heavy rainfall, the sun shone on the fifth Xterra Québec triathlon on Aug. 18 at Lac Delage. This edition was, for the first time, part of the 2018 PanAm circuit. 

Rouge et Or take care of business in preseason action

It may have been a pre-season game, but for head coach Glen Constantin and the Université Laval Rouge et Or football team, it’s already business. On Aug. 18, in front of more than 5,900 fans at the Stade Telus, the Rouge et Or devoured the University of Guelph Gryphons 46-3.
