Keep your eyes to the skies! A partial solar eclipse will be visible in Quebec City on Monday, August 21.

A solar eclipse occurs when the moon, on its orbit around our home planet, comes between the sun and Earth. When this happens, the moon blocks the rays of the sun and the moon’s shadow falls on Earth.

Another school year about to begin

Summer vacation is almost over, and the 2017-2018 school year is just a few days away. August at the Central Quebec School Board (CQSB) means preparing for another school year which will bring on its own challenges.

During a recent trip to the Clair Soleil park in Témiscouata-sur-le-lac, an unusually large number of butterflies filled the sky. As I got closer I realized that many bushes were covered with butterflies. At first I thought that they were Monarchs.

Lovers of short films, to your containers! The Quebec City Film Festival / Festival de cinéma de la ville de Québec (FCVQ) CinéPopUps are back, and this year they are completely autonomous, powered by solar energy!

Swimmers dive in at Nageons au Témiscouata

The second annual Nageons au Témiscouata swim competition was held in Témiscouata-sur-le-lac (Cabano) on August 12. With 107 swimmers registered, compared to 67 last year, this event is gaining in popularity. People from as far away as Port Cartier; Montreal; Quebec City; Matane; and Saint John, New Brunswick, came to compete.

Rouge et Or hoops teams play in NCAA preseason action

It’s starting to become an annual tradition and it’s gaining in popularity. The Université Laval Rouge et Or men’s and women’s basketball teams started the 2017-2018 season with a series of games against some American counterparts who play in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA).
