Walling to leave VEQ for own office next door!

Voice of English-speaking Québec executive director Helen Walling is preparing to take on a new challenge after nine years at the helm of the community organization. She'll wrap up at the end of June, after the May events have been completed.

Rebuild the Armoury!

Quebec City Mayor Régis Labeaume appealed to Prime Minister Stephen Harper earlier this week to rebuild the burned out historic Quebec City Armoury as soon as possible.

Upon hearing the news while in France, Labeaume immediately began his campaign to urgently rebuild the historic structure.

True to their training, members of Quebec’s Les Voltigeurs regiment remained courageous during and after their home, Quebec City’s Armoury was badly destroyed in a massive fire on the evening of Friday, April 4.

Catch John Heward retrospective

Le Musée National Des Beaux Arts is presenting, from March 13 to August 24, an exposition in honour of painter, sculptor and performer John Heward. A career retrospective of one of the most acclaimed and respected modernist and abstract painters of our time. Heward has exhibited his art everywhere from Canada all the way to Beijing.

Royal Rifles of Canada heritage housed in Armoury

Disbanded but not forgotten, The Royal Rifles of Canada are part of Quebec City’s military history – and that of the Quebec City Armoury. This city-based infantry regiment was composed of soldiers from Quebec City, Richmond, Sherbrooke, Gaspé and parts of New Brunswick.
