French consulate and Collège Mérici share a Goût de France

On the occasion of the fourth edition of Goût de France (named “Good France” in English to preserve the pun, although the name translates to “taste of France”), members of the press were invited to the residence of Laurence Haguenauer, the consul general of France in Quebec City, to witness the signing of a culinary agreement between the Consulat Général de France and Collège Mérici.

While the St. Patrick’s Day Parade was in full swing in Upper Town on March 24, Teri Phillips and several dozen members of the American Colony of Quebec were marching for an entirely different reason. March for Our Lives: Quebec City paid tribute to the 17 high school students and staff killed in the Feb.

A perfect season ends in heartbreak for the Lady Lions

The CEGEP Champlain-St. Lawrence Lady Lions women’s basketball dream season came to an end recently with two straight playoff losses.

After a perfect 14-0 regular season, the double blue had high hopes for the upcoming regional championship of the Réseau du Sport Étudiant du Québec (RSEQ).

High school basketball season is over: it’s championship time

The St. Patrick’s Fighting Irish junior girls team is closing the 2017-18 basketball season on a winning note.

After finishing eighth in their division, St. Pat’s qualified for the Réseau du Sport Étudiant du Québec (RSEQ) regional consolation championship on March 25.

St. Pat’s musicians win gold and silver

The St. Pat’s senior and junior jazz bands and vocal ensembles won three gold and one silver plaque at the 2018 Quebec Jazz/Pop Music Festival held at the Polyvalente Neufchatel on March 24.

A special “Prix du Jury” was given to Secondary 1 bassist Loïc Johl for outstanding musicianship.

Ste-Foy Elementary goes “Faster, Higher, Stronger”

Every four years winter Olympic games are held at Ste-Foy Elementary (SFE) School. This year there was a big difference. The cycle three students took ownership and organized the Olympics themselves. This project was part of the cycle three ABAM (Active Body Active Mind) sports program.

On the road with Phelipe Soldevila

For the first time in three years, local artist Phelipe Soldevila held a solo art show in a recently renovated space on Côte d’Abraham that was available only for the weekend of March 23-25. The temporary show, Peinture au volant (Paintings on the road), displayed his latest works.
