William Stuart Pharmacy Lab now open at EQLC

The Eastern Québec Learning Centre (EQLC) inaugurated its pharmacy training lab on April 18. This lab is the only one of its kind at an English-language institution in the region.

Susie Faguy, director of the EQLC, says the new classroom was named the William Stuart Pharmacy Lab, in honour of the man after whom the street the school is located on was named.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind an impressive performance

Director Emile Beauchemin produced a spectacular theatre version of the 2004 movie Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (ESSM). He and the CEGEP Champlain-St. Lawrence theatre group brought this science fiction romantic comedy to the stage at the AI Financial Auditorium on April 19, 20 and 21.

What is being vegan? Veganism is the practice of abstaining completely from the use of animal products, particularly in diet, and adopting an associated philosophy that rejects the commodity status of animals. A follower of either the diet or the philosophy is known as a vegan.

St. Patrick’s High School Public Speaking Competition

Public speaking is a tradition that has been part of St. Patrick’s High School for decades. Every student who has studied at St. Pat’s remembers public speaking and knows someone who has participated in public speaking. Every English teacher who has taught at St. Pat’s has trained and encouraged scores of students to participate in public speaking.

The Quebec Remparts of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) are still searching for their next general manager and head coach. Team president Jacques Tanguay met last week with former Remparts GM and head coach Patrick Roy. However, the former Montreal Canadiens and Colorado Avalanche goalie does not seem to be ready to make a decision yet.

Free skating for a good cause at the Vidéotron Centre

Residents of the greater Quebec City area will have the chance to skate for the first time on the ice of the Vidéotron Centre on April 29.

The day of skating sessions will be held to support Jérémy Plourde, a courageous 15-year-old who suffers from an immune deficiency and neuromuscular disease. His goal is to raise $100,000 for Opération Enfant Soleil.
