Winning conditions enable SLC to bring back a hockey/study program
Cegep Champlain-St. Lawrence has found a solution to its hockey woes. The St. Lawrence Lions will be a member of the America East Hockey League (AEHL) and offer students a chance at completing their studies and playing a season of junior collegiate hockey.

Norbert Cole
Norbert Cole brought the QCT a copy of a photo taken between 1953 and 1956 at the Quebec Armoury, while he was serving with the Royal Rifles of Canada. He recalled good times with the regiment. This group photo is online at www.qctonline.com/node/675, where you can zoom in and view the faces. Among them are decorated officers, veterans of Hong Kong and other battles fought.

Earth Day is coming up soon! It’s time to think of the planet and how our actions affect our home over the short and long term. Thinking about it now will get us ready for Earth Day on April 22.
One way is to come face to face with our waste.
Young QHS scientists head to provincial finals
Quebec High School students Azanie Roy and Fred Parsons will compete at the provincial Bell Science Fair in Montreal this week, representing the Quebec and Chaudière-Appalaches region after placing sixth out of 112 entries at the regional Expo-sciences Bell last month.
Job Fair’s Zone Multilingue a booming success
Last weekend’s job fair at ExpoCité welcomed 10,800 visitors through its doors on Friday and Saturday.
Some 157 companies and organizations were present at the fair with jobs to be filled.
What a winter!
When the month of May is finally upon us, when welcome skeins of Snow and Canada Geese noisily invade the skies on their northward migrations, when blossoms fill the air with their scent, when the celebrations for our city’s 400th anniversary get into at least medium gear, then will we be able to look backward, take a deep breath, and say, all together, “What a winter!”

Mount Hermon Cemetery Association
1848-2008 – 160 years of service
At its most recent annual general meeting, March 26, the Mount Hermon Cemetery Association was presented with statistics regarding its history. Among other things, we found out that David E. Blinco is the ninth president of the cemetery.
This would give an average of 17.78 years of service per president if we calculate the 160 years of activity at the cemetery.
