Marielle Teasdale with her book Undercurrents

For the first time, Anglo-Store will be showcasing three authors on the same evening, Wednesday, April 25. All of the writers come from Quebec province, so the evening will take on a local feeling. The three books are: Even the Owl is Not Heard by Barbara Verity and Gilles Péloquin. This book details the exploits of celebrated surveyor David Thompson and his studies of the Eastern Townships of Quebec. Anyone with a love of history, geography or who has an interest in Quebec province would enjoy this. Three Letters to Pine River by Harold Griffin. This murder mystery, set in the Shannon area, is Harold’s second novel. Montreal-based Harold is of Irish descent and with many of his relatives still living in the Shannon area, his talk is sure to be popular. Undercurrents by Marielle Teasdale. Julia, the subject of the novel, quits her job and moves to the country to attempt to ‘find herself’ as an artist. Her vivid dreams are portrayed on her canvasses as she wrestles with her sanity. This absorbing tale is (Quebec City resident) Marielle’s first book. A scriptwriter from the US is currently working on the script to turn this into a film. Studios are already showing an interest. We’re as excited as Marielle is about this. So, the date for your agenda is Wednesday April 25, beginning at 7:15 p.m. Following a welcome and opening address, the authors of of the three books will speak for fifteen minutes each. This will be followed by a question and answer period and a time for book signings and photographs. Want to come along? It’s as simple as that.
