Porter Airlines upgrades Quebec City To Toronto service

"We're going from a leisure schedule to a schedule that's more business oriented," said Porter Airlines spokesman Brad Cicero.

Cicero was referring to the new schedule that daily will take more passengers from Jean Lesage International Airport to within minutes of downtown Toronto in a little over an hour and a half.

According to a report prepared by TD Economics at TD Bank Financial Group, the Quebec economy has withstood the shocks in the global economy relatively well over the last two years. This report is an update of a 2007 study entitled Converting Quebec's Strengths Into Prosperity. Over the last two years, Quebec has been able to make up some lost ground in terms of per capita income.

Homeowners in Quebec City can rest easy about real estate values, despite the sub-prime mortgage crisis wreaking havoc on real estate prices south of the border. The crisis is unlikely to creep north according to industry experts, because of Quebec City’s uniquely guarded housing market and well-regulated Canadian banking system.
