It pays to be bilingual – literally. That’s the idea behind the establishment of the Zone Multilingue kiosk at the 10th annual Quebec City Job Fair.

Five years ago, three newcomers arrived in Quebec City with dreams of starting new lives here with their Quebec-raised spouses. They found themselves together in the same French class at the Centre Louis-Jolliet in Limoilou.

Jeffery Hale history on display

In addition to the annual Saint Brigid’s-Jeffery Hale art exhibit was a focus on the history of the institution’s two former entities. Above: some old medical instruments and a picture of the lifelong governors of the board of Jeffery Hale’s Hospital were among items displayed at the Jeffery Hale Pavilion.

True to their training, members of Quebec’s Les Voltigeurs regiment remained courageous during and after their home, Quebec City’s Armoury was badly destroyed in a massive fire on the evening of Friday, April 4.

Royal Rifles of Canada heritage housed in Armoury

Disbanded but not forgotten, The Royal Rifles of Canada are part of Quebec City’s military history – and that of the Quebec City Armoury. This city-based infantry regiment was composed of soldiers from Quebec City, Richmond, Sherbrooke, Gaspé and parts of New Brunswick.

Quebec City armoury destroyed by fire - photos and video

DSCF0018_1.jpgQuebec City’s 124-year-old armoury was destroyed in a massive fire on Friday night. It is located off Grande-Allée, just outside the city’s fortified walls.

The building was undergoing renovations, which included sprinklers.
