The St. Andrew’s Soloists to perform concert this weekend

The St. Andrew’s soloists are set to perform their chamber music at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church in old Quebec on Saturday, February 23 at 8 p.m. Entitled Seasons at St. Andrew’s, the concert will be a musical panorama featuring the works of Beethoven, Kreisler, Shostakovich and Schumann.

Autism fundraiser

The 17th annual fundraising brunch for the Fondation de l’autisme de Quebec will take place on Sunday, February 17, from 10 to 1 p.m., at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Ancienne-Lorette, 1300 Rue de la Hutte, Ancienne-Lorette. The honourary president is Andre Gagne, chair of the board of directors of la Caisse populaire Desjardins des Chutes Montmorency.

Echo[e]s will speak to the English-speaking communities of past and present

Gisèle Bouchard is collecting photos and video that depict life as an English-speaker in Quebec City over the past century. This is the final step in her information gathering for Echo[e]s, the Literary and Historical Society of Quebec’s oral history project.

Echo[e]s is part of the LHSQ’s 400th anniversary program, Voices from the Crossroads.

Haller to host wordcraft workshops at Morrin Centre

Poet, singer/songwriter Adrian Haller will host a four-session series on writing, Word/Craft: An Introduction to Poetry Writing and Practice, to be held on Sundays once a month from February to May at Morrin Centre. The workshops are being held in conjunction with the Quebec Writers’ Federation.
