I am already a few issues late in expressing my appreciation at the resurrection of Memorials and Things of Fame.
I’ve always harboured a certain attachment to this column, since not only did I create it; I coined the title (from Shakespeare) as well.

Come wish Quebec City a Happy Birthday!
Come out and wish Quebec City a happy 400th birthday! Voice of English-speaking Québec will be filming groups of people offering their wishes for our fair city. The recording will be part of an audio-visual presentation to be shown at the May Gala Dinner. Everyone is invited to participate on Sunday, April 27 at 3 p.m. Filming will take a maximum of 15 minutes.

Earth Day is coming up soon! It’s time to think of the planet and how our actions affect our home over the short and long term. Thinking about it now will get us ready for Earth Day on April 22.
One way is to come face to face with our waste.
Ted Gunn celebrates 75th birthday
Congratulations to Scotsman Ted Gunn who celebrated his 75th birthday last week. On Saturday, his wife, Louise, and son Ken surprised him with a brand spankin’ new kilt from MacIsaac Kiltmakers in St. Peter’s, NS, which he wore with pride on Tartan Day.
Time to remember Moe Rosenhek Volunteer Award
They donate their time and expect nothing in return, but some of Quebec City’s most altruistic residents are about to be recognized, whether they like it or not. Nominations for the Moe Rosenhek
Volunteer Award are now being accepted by the Citadel Foundation.
Quebec Semaine Multilingue runs from April 7 to 12
Quebec’s Semaine Multilingue will hit the region from April 7 to 12 this year.
The week, an initiative of the Chambre de commerce de Québec and its partners, is a time to encourage people to think about multilingualism.
Events will wrap up with the region’s annual job fair at ExpoQuébec April 11 and 12 under the theme “Because we can choose .”
