Laval one win away from championship game

The top-ranked Laval Rouge et Or are one win away from playing host to the Vanier Cup championship after easily beating the University of Montreal Carabins Saturday.

The locals scored on their first three possessions and never looked back en route to a 31-7 win and a seventh straight Dunsmore Cup title, in front of 13,852 fans.

Perfect Weekend for the Lions

This past weekend, the St. Lawrence Lions had 4 of its intercollegiate teams in action, competing in 6 games, all WINS!!!!

Last week, the Calgary Flames managed to obtain the much coveted H1N1 vaccine whilst supplies were running short and others more in need were made to wait. After this information became public, national outcry soon ensued. Many pointed to this as another example of celebrities receiving more favourable treatment than the rest of the Canadian populace.

Liambas Suspended for Balance of Season

The Ontario Hockey League announced Wednesday that 20 year old Erie Otter's forward Mike Liambas will be suspended for the remainder of 2009-10 season, including the playoffs, for his hit on the Kitchener Ranger's Ben Fanelli.

The Halloween showcase held in Alma set the stage for the first Collegiate AAA hockey tournament.

The local team, sitting on top of the league standing had great expectations for this initial showcase.

Unfortunately for them, their vision of Halloween treats was tragically stolen by the tricks and energy of the St. Lawrence Lions.
