Michel Ruest was working as a bank manager when he decided to start a family business. With his expertise, he looked at many concepts and, in 1993, decided to come back to his hometown of Cabano to open a 10-lane bowling alley.

Quebec women’s rugby teams bring home bronze medals

It was a weekend to remember for Rugby Québec women’s programs.

In action at the East National Rugby Championships at Acadia University, in Wolfville, N.S., from Aug. 14-19, both under 16 and under 18 (U16, U18) girls teams came home with bronze medals.

Rouge et Or wins season opener in Sherbrooke

The Université Laval Rouge et Or football team started its 2018 season with a surprisingly close 14-1 victory over the Université de Sherbrooke Vert et Or in Réseau du Sport Étudiant du Québec (RSEQ) action on Aug. 23.

The Université Laval Rouge et Or men’s basketball team completed their exhibition games against NCAA teams with a resounding 92-77 win over the Farmingdale State Rams, a Division III team, on Aug. 25.

After a night of heavy rainfall, the sun shone on the fifth Xterra Québec triathlon on Aug. 18 at Lac Delage. This edition was, for the first time, part of the 2018 PanAm circuit. 

Rouge et Or take care of business in preseason action

It may have been a pre-season game, but for head coach Glen Constantin and the Université Laval Rouge et Or football team, it’s already business. On Aug. 18, in front of more than 5,900 fans at the Stade Telus, the Rouge et Or devoured the University of Guelph Gryphons 46-3.

Notre Dame de Paris comes to the Grand Théâtre!

It’s back! For its 20th anniversary, Notre Dame de Paris, with lyrics by Quebec’s Luc Plamondon and music by French-Italian composer Richard Cocciante, is being presented for the first time in all its glory at the Grand Théâtre de Québec, with 15 performances from Aug. 11-26. The cast is all new, except for Daniel Lavoie who is reprising the role of Frollo.
