Jérome Bear Paw Parent, an Algonquin and Mi’kmaq métis, is a proud veteran who is leading the community in honouring Aboriginal veterans.

Feathers, leather, jingles, moccasins – all the beauty of regalia – filled Wendake’s open-air Pow Wow weekend. The traditional dances set to the beat of the Red Tail Spirit Singers from Kahnawake and the Algonquin Screaming Eagles host drums awed locals and visitors alike. The result was a happy cultural blend between various first nations and between native and non-native communities.
