SHANAHAN, Corinne
1926 - 2012

Peacefully at St. Mary’s Hospital in Kingston, ON, Oct.12, aged 86 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Quebec City Aug. 2, 1926 to Joe Shanahan and Blanche Gouge. She was proudly named after her aunt, Lady Corinne Caron, the wife of Sir Charles Fitzpatrick, who served as the fifth Chief Justice of Canada. A graduate of Leonard High, she joined Price Brothers where her ability led her to Montreal, New York and finally Toronto where she retired. A painter, fine athlete with 130+ 10-tenpin average, she mastered five languages. Her passion was her piano: pop, jazz, R&B @ classical. She’s probably jamming with Ella, Sarah and Nellie Lutcher now. More important: she was a generous, caring and loving sister-in-law and aunt to 19 grandchildren.
Predeceased by her parents and siblings: Evelyn (Charles Langlois), Kay (Bill Bouchard), Jimmy, Janette (Rusty Johnston), Charlie, (Betty O’Byrne), Pansy (Jack O’Connell), Louis (Bertha Malloy).  Leaves to mourn Terry Labbe in Edmonton, best friend Frieda Zoll and extended family and friends. Mass will be celebrated at St Patrick’s in Quebec City Saturday Oct. 20 at 11AM. The family will receive condolences before mass at 10:30AM. Interment at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Sillery.
A special thank you to Frieda her principal care giver and the caring staff of St. Mary’s. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Corinne’s name to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
