A.S. Johnson Memorial High School grads: Claudia Melanson, Brandon Breton Phaneuf, Jerome Laprise, Andrew Blaney, Myriam Dostie, Dylan Hogan, Jessy Marcoux, David Rousseau, Andie Jacques, Jordan Nadeau, Ariane Poirier (valedictorian), and Francis Gouin, are all dressed up for their graduation ceremony and banquet.

Andrew Stuart Johnson Memorial High School in Thetford Mines held its graduation ceremony on June 17. The official ceremony was held at the school following a photo session with the 12 graduates at the home of Aline Visser.
It was a beautiful ceremony. Valedictorian Ariane Poirier gave a touching speech during which tears were shed. French teacher and guest speaker Geneviève Boulanger also drew a few tears when she addressed the graduates with fond memories and sound advice.

The Parents’ Committee Prize for volunteerism was awarded to Claudia Melanson. The MCDC gave two scholarships of $500 each to students furthering their education: Andie Jacques and David Rousseau. The Lampe Foundation award for leadership within the community was presented to Andie Jacques.

Following the ceremony, family members and friends enjoyed dinner together at the Auberge Mi-Chemin in Broughton Station.

The graduates will be missed but they will continue to be part of our family. We wish them luck and success and look forward to their visits.
