Ross Cottage on the move

The moving contractor Héneault and Gosselin slowly and gingerly raised Ross Cottage from its foundation near Jeffery Hale Hospital and moved it some 270 metres east on Chemin Sainte-Foy to be the focal point of a community garden.

Living in close proximity to Ross Cottage at 1244 Chemin Sainte-Foy, where it intersects Avenue Ernest-Gagnon, my wife and I couldn’t help but notice the steep-roofed, yellow-sided, red brick, arts and crafts-style house. It was dark and empty, but not quite derelict.

Who owned it? Did anybody live there? We wondered.
