Before the shock of the shooting at the Centre culturel islamique de Québec (CCIQ) had worn off, on Jan. 30, 2017, Quebecers sidestepped the expansive police cordon and flowed into the parking lot of Église Notre-Dame-de-Foy, across Route de l’Église from the mosque, leaving flowers, candles and good wishes. One year later, they were back.
