Québec-Lévis ferry’s vehicle ramp damaged

July 26, 2013 - The damaged ferry ramp has now been repaired and service for vehicles has been restored. - July 26, 2013   ---------        No service for motor vehicles until further notice. Pedestrians and bicycles only.

Due to damage to the ferry’s vehicle ramp, as of Thursday, July 18, ferry service between Quebec City and Lévis is available for pedestrians and bicyclists only until repairs have been completed. The damage is the result of wear, not an accident. For safety reasons, the ramp will be closed to motor vehicles for seven to ten days. A new piece has to be made to replace the damaged section.

Daily ferry service will continue, with ferries departing from both sides of the river every 30 minutes, but not for motor vehicles. The 20-minute departures during rush hour will not be in effect because of the use of an auxiliary ramp for pedestrians and bicycles on the Quebec City side of the river.

Management says that every effort is being made to restore service for motor vehicles as quickly as possible, while ensuring the safety of all passengers.
Check the Traversier de Québec website for information as to when the vehicle ramp will be repaired and cars and trucks can once again use the ferry. http://m.traversiers.ca/?p=1115
