Québec Honours Local Judge

sheehan-michael.jpgWell I'm happy to announce that my father, Hon Michael Sheehan,  was named "Chevalier de l'Ordre national du Québec" at a wonderful ceremony yesterday afternoon at the National Assembly. My father has been very active in suicide prevention since my brother took his own life in 1995.  Other inductees included Mario Lemieux, Louise Arbour, René Angelil and many more most deserving persons. The ceremony was quite touching and inspiring despite the papparazzi rush to get a shot of Celine Dion and her son René-Charles. I invite all of you to visit the Odre's website under "répertoire des membres" (search "year 2009") to read about the new members.  http://www.ordre-national.gouv.qc.ca/recherche.htm Especially inspiring is the story of Ms Brenda Milner, who remains active in brain research despite being over 90 years-old! We are all very proud of you Papa!

Differences

Last week my daughter had a very interesting workshop on « differences ».  They read a story about an animal that was different from the others and, I guess you can imagine the rest of it. They all discussed afterwards and the teacher asked them to give examples of differences.
