What is being vegan? Veganism is the practice of abstaining completely from the use of animal products, particularly in diet, and adopting an associated philosophy that rejects the commodity status of animals. A follower of either the diet or the philosophy is known as a vegan.

They say, “Home is where the heart is.” This was more than evident to the capacity crowd that came to hear Katherine and Keith Burgess express their heartfelt affection for Newfoundland in their “Calling Us Home” presentation.

This Lifelong Learning event was one of a series of talks showcasing different regions of Canada, to mark the 150th anniversary of Confederation.

Alberto Giacometti exhibit at MNBAQ open until May 12

Don’t miss the exhibit of works by Alberto Giacometti which is open until May 12 at the Musée national des Beaux-Arts du Québec (MNBAQ). A Swiss sculptor and painter who lived in Paris, Giacometti is known for his unique sculptures of elongated subjects with specially detailed surfaces, but the exhibition also celebrates the painter.

A breath of fresh air for the OSQ’s 2018-2019 season

Music director Fabien Gabel and the musicians of the Orchestre symphonique de Québec (OSQ) launched their 2018-2019 season on March 27. During the press conference, Gabel said, “Making this city vibrate to the sound of music is a source of extreme motivation for me… I hope to see you again for this new season, which promises to be exceptional.”

QHS team takes second place in provincial Improv Championships

Over the March 23-24 weekend, the Quebec High School Senior Improv Team traveled to Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue, near Montreal, to compete in the Montreal Regional Improv Championships organized by the Canadian Improv Games.
