Quebec: A City and Its Artists at Musée

The Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec has launched Québec: A City and Its Artists, an exhibit featuring over 160 works by 22 artists who were born or lived in Quebec City between 1670 and 1970.

2008 promises plenty of music from around the world

Welcome back to the musical beats on Quebec City streets! We start off a promising 2008 with music from the other side of the world, stopping to celebrate our great city’s 400th birthday with Les Muses Boréales: De Saint-Pétersbourg à Québec. This trio will be performing at Le Palais Montcalm, 995 Place D’Youville, on February 2 at 8 p.m.

Deep below the Grand Théâtre de Québec, students at Quebec’s Conservatoire de musique are rehearsing the songs, dance moves and lines for the fast-approaching premiere of Frances Brooke’s operetta Rosina. The production is to be staged at Morrin Centre’s College Hall from January 24 to 27.
