You never know who you’ll meet in Antarctica. You might cavort with penguins one day and the next day shake hands with the president of Chile.

Such was the case for Université Laval biology professor Ladd Johnson, who spent a month on the massive “white continent” as part of a research project supported by the Chilean Antarctic Institute.
