Quebec Semaine Multilingue runs from April 7 to 12

Quebec’s Semaine Multilingue will hit the region from April 7 to 12 this year.

The week, an initiative of the Chambre de commerce de Québec and its partners, is  a time to encourage people to think about multilingualism.

Events will wrap up with the region’s annual job fair at ExpoQuébec April 11 and 12 under the theme “Because we can choose .”

Among the partners for the Zone Multilingue are Voice of English-speaking Québec and Eastern Québec Learning Centre, CeDeC Quebec-Chaudière-Appalaches, Université Laval, Valcartier Family Centre and the Quebec Chronicle-Telegraph.

This kiosk will highlight English-lanugage services, with a second-language test for job fair visitors, and information on job searching.

Don’t miss the Quebec Writers’ Circle multilingual event on Wednesday, April 9.

Members of the group and friends will present the second annual evening of readings in English,

French, Spanish and Dutch ... Escape to Babel II, in the library of the Literary and Historical Society of Quebec, 44 Chaussée des Écossais, beginning at 7:30 p.m.

Admission is $5. Proceeds go to Morrin Centre.
