The congregation of St John the Evangelist church in Portneuf wishes to invite our many friends to join us in the celebration of our little church's 125th anniversary.

Quebec Baptist Church Clothing Bank

Although the community lunch doors have closed, the clothing bank at Quebec Baptist Church continues to offer free clothing to anyone in need. We are no longer open Tuesdays but operate by private appointment. To make an appointment, call the church at 418-523-0663 and leave a message, including your name and phone number. We will be happy to get back to you as soon as possible.

We are searching for families with a big heart in your region.

 

ASSE, student exchange international program, is searching for families who are ready to host voluntarily, meaning giving home and food during the next school year to young girls and boys.

Simon Jacobs has been named as the new executive director of the Morrin Centre, the self-described cultural portal of the heritage of English-speakers in Quebec City operated by the Literary and Historical Society of Quebec.

Québec City Women’s Club Meeting February 25, 2009

Erratum

I would like to personally and on behalf of the members of the Oasis Day Care board apologize for the mistake that appeared in the Oasis Day Care article of December 4, 2008. In said article, it was written that the Citadel Foundation was helping with financial assistance. Although we have approached very informally the Foundation, no understanding between us has been reached.

Ste-Foy Elementary Christmas Sale Dec 16th

The P.P.O. (Parent Participation Organization) of Ste-Foy Elementary School will be holding a sale in the spirit of Christmas. This sale will be held after the Christmas Concert which will take place on December 16th at 1:30. Homemade crafts will be sold, and if you don't end up buying anything, at least treat yourself to something from our bakesale!

We hosted over 120 people at the Les Voûtes du Cavour, Thursday, December 4. Of those who attended over 40 were newcomers to the Quebec City area. We were very pleased to see such a great community turn out. Days after the elections in Wendake, former Grand Chief Max Gros-Louis, 77, gallantly spoke with the QCT in his home in the village. Rummaging through letters and articles written to or about him, Gros-Louis, having announced his retirement, sat calmly at his dining room table and reminisced.
