RMS Franconia II ran aground on Île d’Orleans shortly after she left the Port of Quebec on July 14, 1950. She was safely re-floated, repaired and continued in service for another six years. The Franconia referred to in the 1965 article above was the third ship with the same name operated by the Cunard Line.
