Members of the Canadian Forces and an RCMP officer stood guard around the Cross of Sacrifice in Quebec City during the Remembrance Day ceremony at the Cross of Sacrifice on Grande Allée. Over 50 wreaths were placed in memory of the fallen.

This year’s Remembrance Day has a special significance because it commemorates the 100th anniversary of the signing of the Armistice in a railway car in the forest of Compiègne in Picardy, France, on Nov. 11, 1918, ending the First World War.
