OBITUARY: Jan Elizabeth Earle

Jan Elizabeth Earle died in Exeter, UK, on Friday, August 19, 2016, aged 62 years. She was the loving mother of Isaac, Rosie, Heather and Tim, and daughter of Edna and Peter Skinner of Hildenborough, Kent, UK. She also leaves behind her good friend and ex-husband Steven Earle.

She will be missed by her sister Mary (David Marfleet), her brother Paul (Nina Skinner) as well as her cousin Richard Skinner (Betsy).  

She will also be dearly missed by the community of the Holy Trinity Anglican Cathedral in Quebec City, especially the choir and the bell ringers.

Jan was born in Kent, England, and attended Tonbridge Grammar School and then York University, where she studied sociology and then teaching. She married Steve and moved to Saskatchewan in 1980. She and the family moved to British Columbia in 1991 where she grew a beautiful garden and then to Quebec in 1999 where she taught English and grew another beautiful garden.

She moved back to England in 2015 and joined the community of St. Stephen’s Church in Exeter. Her body will be cremated on Monday October 10, at the Exeter Crematorium and the funeral service will be held at Holy Trinity Anglican Cathedral in Quebec City on Friday October 14 at 5:30 p.m.
