Team Yukon's sculpture is based on an Inuit carving which in turn is based on a true story of hunters fighting to free themselves from a glacier. The sculpture won three medals, including the highest jury prize, the Mention of Excellence, and the Prix du Public.

Two weeks ago, Lidrissi Moulay Hicham had never touched snow.

Hicham is a Moroccan painter based in Nice, France. He had no plans to come to Quebec until late January, when the phone rang. His old friend Omar Gammaoui was on the line from Montreal. Gammaoui, the captain of Team Morocco for the upcoming TELUS International Snow Sculpture Competition in Quebec City, needed a hand.
