Good Friday Procession of the Cross in Old Quebec

An ecumenical and bilingual Good Friday Procession of the Cross will take place on April 14, starting at 6:30 p.m. at Chalmers-Wesley United Church, 78 Rue Sainte-Ursule.

Worshippers will proceed from there on foot following the Cross, which will be carried by members of the participating churches through the streets of Old Quebec to St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, thence to Basilique Notre-Dame de Québec, and will end at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity at 31 Rue Des Jardins. All are welcome.

Dramatic readings of the Passion according to Saint John will take place at each stop along the way. Clergy from the four churches on the organizing committee, including Cardinal Gérald Cyprien Lacroix and Bishop Bruce Myers, will participate. Music director Sandra Bender will lead an ecumenical choir, accompanied by organist Benjamin Waterhouse.  Parking will be available at Chalmers-Wesley, the Basilica, and the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity. Limited parking available at St. Andrew's Church.
