OBITUARY: Gillian Margaret AYRE

Gillian Margaret AYRE (née Duncan) September 18, 1941 - August 21, 2015, died peacefully in her 73rd year at Hôtel-Dieu Hospital in Quebec City. Wife of Michael George Ayre and daughter of the late Douglas and Clare Duncan, she was born in Aberdeen, Scotland, and lived in Quebec City. 

In addition to her husband Michael Ayre, she is survived by her sons: Simon (Ashley), Nick (Lisa), Andrew (Stéphanie); her grandchildren: Hailey, David, Michael, Callum, Connor, Jacob, Hailey, Julia; her brother Douglas Forbes (Erica); her brother-in-law John (Marlene); and many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.  

The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at the Hôtel-Dieu, in particular all the staff on the 4th floor and Dr. Tremblay and her team for their care and compassion.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the Maison Gomin, 2026 Boulevard René-Lévesque Ouest, Quebec City, on Friday, September 4, from 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, September 5, from 9 to 11 a.m. 

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 5 at 2:00 p.m. at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity, 31 Rue des Jardins, Quebec City.
