France awarding a special medal to veterans of the Second World War

Canadian veterans of the 1944 campaign to liberate France may be eligible to receive the National Order of the Legion of Honour.
Since 2014, the Government of France has been awarding the country’s highest medal – the Legion of Honour – to veterans who participated in the liberation of France from June 6 to Aug. 30, 1944.
