First World War artifact donated to Musée des Voltigeurs

Major-General Sir David Watson survived the Battles of Vimy and Ypres in 1914 and 1915. This painting of Watson was done in 1918 by Irish war artist William Orpen.

One day while Helen Meredith was tidying up the desk of her father, Clive Meredith, she came across an odd-looking little object that she quickly realized must have great historic value. She consulted her dad, who suggested they offer it to this newspaper’s current editor, in hopes of finding it a suitable home.
