This photo of the 1951 Stanley Cup Champions Toronto Maple Leafs, is from the book, The Game We Knew: Hockey In The Fifties, by Mike Leonetti. Bill Barilko, who scored the Cup-winning goal, is in the foreground on the far left.

The consensus of testimonials to Gord Downie, this uniquely Canadian cultural icon, is that his songs touched people in a very personal, very Canadian way. One Tragically Hip song in particular made that connection for me.
