The Celtic Festival

The Celtic Festival kicked off the weekend
in grand style with a parade throughout the streets of Old Quebec last
Saturday morning. Led by the 78th Fraser Highlanders Pipes and Drums
Band, about a hundred participants rallied under the banners of their
respective Celtic nations.  The parade stopped momentarily at City
Hall to receive recognition for the Celtic communities' contribution
to the city's development. The Frasers' piping and drumming stopped
many people passing by in their tracks. Many spectators soon followed
the parade back to the Festival's base at Morrin Centre.
