Canada's maple leaf flag was officially inaugurated on Parliament Hill in Ottawa on February 15, 1965, with Governor General Georges Vanier, Prime Minister Lester B. Pearson, the members of the Cabinet and thousands of Canadians in attendance.

Come and celebrate Canada Day on the Plains of Abraham as well as several other locations around the city. Starting at 12 noon, there will be a Flag-raising ceremony on Dufferin Terrace, followed at 1:00 p.m. by the sharing of the Canada Day birthday cake.
