Pastry chefs of the Château Frontenac cut and serve the enormous Canada Day birthday cake which is their gift to the people of Quebec City each year.

For the 42nd year, the kitchen staff of the Chateau Frontenac offered an anniversary cake to the citizens and visitors of Quebec City on Canada Day.

At one o'clock on Sunday, July 1, four strong members of chef Jean Soulard's culinary team carried the gigantic cake, decorated with the flag of Canada, from the hotel to the Lorne Kiosk situated near the middle of Dufferin Terrace.
