The Salon international du livre de Québec runs until April 20 at the convention centre. This year’s honourary chair is author Marie Laberge, and the theme is the francophonie.

Zinky Boys a hit at SLC

Ten students from the Cegep Champlain-St. Lawrence Theatre Company (Alex Carter-Labbé, Jean-Philippe Chabot, Edenne Fournier, Rosalie Genois, Charles-Auguste Lehoux, Catherine Moisan, Marie-Christine Plante, Zoë Toupin, Jean-Thomas Tremblay and Stéphanie Turmel) presented the startling drama Zinky Boys to a full house for three nights running on April 1, 2 and 3.

VEQ ensures professional development

Voice of English-speaking Québec’s Patrick Tomlinson organized two community professional development workshops at the Quebec High School Community Learning Centre. Four community groups attended from Gaspé via the centre’s videoconferencing system.

QHS Blazers complete perfect seasons

The weekend of March 29 and 30 was an exciting and memorable one for the Quebec High School Bantam and Senior Boys AA basketball teams.

Mount Hermon Cemetery Association

1848-2008 – 160 years of service

At its most recent annual general meeting, March 26, the Mount Hermon Cemetery Association was presented with statistics regarding its history. Among other things, we found out that David E. Blinco is the ninth president of the cemetery.

This would give an average of 17.78 years of service per president if we calculate the 160 years of activity at the cemetery.
