Ireland in Quebec appears just in time for St. Patrick’s Day
Valcartier’s Irish roots are rising up! The community is celebrating this week with the launch of Ireland in Quebec, a CD featuring accordionist Keith Corrigan, singer and fiddler Jimmy Kelly, fiddler Lisa Ornstein, guitarist André Marchand and pianist Nick Hawes.

There’s no stopping the people of Shannon and Valcartier when it comes to celebrating St. Patrick’s Day! The Shannon Irish Show has been put on each March for the past 42 years, no matter the weather.
Quebec historian to receive community award from St. Patrick’s Society of Montreal
It would not be a stretch to say that no one knows more about the history of the Irish in Quebec than Marianna O’Gallagher, the 2008 recipient of the St. Patrick’s Society Community Award. The Quebec City resident will be honoured at the Annual Luncheon in Montreal on March 17.
SLC launches P. W. Sims Business Program
From the first floor of the former Price building, Cegep Champlain-St. Lawrence director Jean Robert officially launched the P. W. Sims Business Program last Monday.
“This was the first skyscraper in Quebec City, in the 1930s,” said Robert. ”You’re in the [former] bank; there’s the vault. This building cost $1 million in 1929.”
Pub Dunn prepares for 20th St. Patrick’s
Though much has changed at the bar formerly known as Pub Thomas Dunn over the last year, at least one thing remains the same: The watering hole’s 20th annual St. Patrick’s Day celebration promises to be yet another epic party.

Headed to Guatamala
We are Apoyo Guatemala, a group of 20 students from the social science program at Cegep Lévis-Lauzon. With the help of the social science department we have built a humanitarian aid project that will take place from May 31 until June 23.
