The 2018 Community Christmas Hamper Campaign has started!

The 23rd annual Community Christmas Hamper Campaign is off and running! Meet Jacob Brglez, this year’s social media co-ordinator, assisted here by Klutz the Elf, who takes care of sick reindeer so he always has a thermometer close by. It’s also handy for tracking donations!

Our fundraising goal for 2018 is $30,000, so we have a long way to go! You can visit the Quebec City Community Christmas Hamper Campaign Facebook page every Thursday and keep track of the fundraising progress. We need non-perishable food donations (canned and packaged goods) as well as volunteers to help sort, pack and deliver the goods on Dec. 12, 13, 14 and 15.

The following major fundraising events are coming up soon. You’re invited, so mark your calendars.

The International Lunch takes place at the Eastern Quebec Learning Centre on Wednesday, Nov. 28, at noon. This year’s cuisine will be Persian, and all proceeds go to the campaign. Reserve your tickets ($20 general, $15 for 65+) by calling 418 654-0537 ext. 2852, or email [email protected].

The VEQ Holiday Happy Hour is happening at the Morrin Centre on Wednesday, Dec. 5, from 5 to 7 p.m. RSVP by Friday, Nov. 30, by calling 418-683-2366 ext. 221 or emailing [email protected]. Proceeds from the cash bar go to the campaign. Be sure to bring your food donations, and your indoor shoes!
